About Dr. Briggs
Dr. Patrick Briggs earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California in 1998. He went on to complete a primary podiatric medicine and surgical residency at VA West Los Angeles (affiliated with UCLA). His surgical residency was performed in Houston, Texas and completed in 2001. He is board certified by The American Board of Podiatric Surgery in foot and reconstructive rear foot and ankle and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Briggs has a passion for practicing cost effective, evidence based, and compassionate medicine. He believes many conditions can be treated conservatively. He realizes surgical care is often warranted, but should be thoroughly discussed with the patient.
Dr. Briggs specializes in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery including total ankle replacement and reconstruction, flatfoot, pediatrics, trauma, sports medicine and diabetic complications. He is active with many FDA approved research clinical studies out of the Clear Lake Area and is a clinical instructor with the Harris County Podiatric Surgical Residency Program of West Houston Medical Center.
He has staff privileges at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, Memorial Herman Southeast Medical Center, Doctors United Surgical Center, Bay Area Surgicare Center and South Shore SC.
Dr. Briggs graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in Kinesiology/Exercise physiology. He is an avid outdoors man and in his spare time enjoys competing in triathlons and playing golf. He also enjoys traveling and photography.
About Dr. Giacomuzzi
Dr. Markus Giacomuzzi received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois in 1986. He completed a Podiatric Surgical Residency at Westside VA Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Giacomuzzi is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds memberships in the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Texas Podiatric Medical Association and the Harris County Podiatric Medical Association. He is also a clinical instructor with the Harris County Podiatric Surgical Residency Program of West Houston Medical Center, a three-year surgical residency program. Dr. Giacomuzzi began his podiatric practice in 1988 with MacGregor Medical Association later joined Texas Gulf Coast Medical Group in June 2002.
Dr. Giacomuzzi holds staff privileges at Bay Area Regional Medical Center, Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, Memorial Herman Southeast Medical Center, Doctors United Surgery Center, South Shore SC, Bay Area Surgicare Center and Kindred LTAC.
Dr. Giacomuzzi specializes in all areas of foot and ankle surgery including sports medicine, diabetic foot complications, pediatrics, flatfoot deformities as well as foot and ankle trauma. Along with his practice partner Dr. Briggs, Dr. Giacomuzzi is involved with many FDA approved clinical research studies.
Dr. Giacomuzzi graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a B.S in Psychology. Born to Swiss parents Dr. Giacomuzzi holds unique dual citizenships as both American and Swiss. While growing up in Chicago along with his parents and 7 brothers and sisters, he was part of a performing musical family band. In his spare time Dr. Giacomuzzi has a passion for cycling, loves playing golf and enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
